Leon

Today Cristina, Manuel, and I drove to Leon. Leon is we're Cristina grew up and where her parents and brother lives. It's about an hour and a half away from Oviedo and we have to cross over the mountains. The mountains are hugeee and absolutely beautiful, especially covered in the fresh snow that fell yesterday. Once we crossed the mountains we drove into totally different climates. First we went thru this forest of thousands and thousands of pine trees then all of a sudden out of no where...desert!
We got to Cristina's house and I met the family. Her mom is even shorter than she is being probably only 4'11 and her dad is shorter than me. Her brother is also smaller than me haha...he's 24 and an engineer but looks 15....the family of smalls!
We went and walked around the city and had some drinks and tapas. This week has been the coldest in years so Cristina and get mom went dressed for antarctica...it was around 30 F tonight. The tapas here in Leon are famous...you get a drink and a big taps. The first place was these mini beers and mini pieces of pizza. This place is famous in Leon because the pizza was so good! It's got nothin on Antonio's pizza though :) the next place surved huge tapas. In Oviedo we only get a bite sized piece of bread with something like a little piece of ham or tortilla on top. Here it was a full piece of bread and full slice of tortilla.
When we got back we made dinner around 11 and ate...I can't get used to these late eating times! Side note, they asked me if I ate rabbit and when I said no they all were really surprised...gross I could never eat rabbit. And jus like in Oviedo they only keep the heat on in a couple of rooms so I'm here under my covers with 2 sweaters and a robe on!
