Hello Rome!!

We finally arrived to our Hostel around 10am after spending another night in an airport. This time there were no chairs so we slept straight on the floor. We put our stuff away and headed out to the city. Dan has a friend studying abroad here so we decided to meet up with her and we'd go on a walk. She told us to get on the bus and meet her at a certain place. Well, turns out we took the bus in the wrong direction and got completely lost. We got off on a stop and waited there for about 40 min for Dan's friend Leah to come pick us up. She didn't even know where we were so we got back on and went looking for her again. After about another 40 min of getting on a crowded bus, Dan getting elbowed in the chest by a homeless man, getting off the wrong stop again and walking we finally found Leah.
We walked over to the Trevi fountain, this magnificent and huge fountain with beautiful white sculptures. It was amazing. There were thousands of people crowded around it taking pictures and throwing pennies in it to make a wish. There are also a ton of pizza and gelato places around the fountain. This is where I got my first gelato, half and half flavored with nuetella and cookies and cream. It was amazing!!

We headed back to the hostel after that to take a nap after a night of sleeping in the airport. We woke up and went to a restaurant across the street called La Famiglia. There is ordered tortelini filled with meat and bolognese sauce. YUM! All of our meals were very good, the pasta just tastes different, maybe more fresh I don't know.

After dinner we waited for another one of Dan's friends who was flying in from Ireland and who was going to spend a few days in Rome with us. He came in about 1030, we went out to buy a few bottles of wine and headed back to the Trevi Fountain. It's even more beautiful at night all lit up and with very little people there.
